This page explains what personal information forexprogressive.com handles and why. We keep the list deliberately short: we are a publishing site, not a data business.
What is collected
- Messages you send us through the contact form — your name, email address and the message itself. These arrive by email and are kept only as long as needed to deal with the enquiry.
- Comments — name, email, optional website, the comment, your IP address and browser string, used to publish it and to filter spam.
- Login and security events — failed login attempts and related IP data, recorded by our security plugin to block automated attacks.
- Server logs — routine records kept by our host for a short period.
- Anonymous usage statistics, where analytics is enabled, showing which articles are read — never tied to an individual.
We never ask for trading account numbers, broker credentials, API keys or identity documents. Please do not send them.
Cookies
Functional cookies remember your comment details and keep the site working; caching cookies help pages load quickly. If you follow an affiliate link to a broker or prop firm, that company may set its own tracking cookie so the referral can be credited — those are governed by their privacy policy, not ours. Your browser can block or clear all of them.
Why we are allowed to hold it
Where UK or EU data protection law applies, we rely on your consent for messages and comments, and on our legitimate interest in running a secure website and replying to people who write to us.
Who else sees it
Nobody, beyond the service providers that make the site function: our hosting company, our email provider, and the security, anti-spam and form plugins installed here. Nothing is sold, rented or shared for marketing.
How long it is kept
- Contact messages: as long as the conversation is live, and no more than 24 months.
- Comments: for as long as the article they belong to is published.
- Security and server logs: a short rolling window, normally under 30 days.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask for it to be corrected or erased, object to how it is used, and complain to your data protection authority. Write to us through the contact page and we will deal with it within the period the law allows.
Transfers and security
Our host and service providers may be located outside your country; we use providers that apply appropriate safeguards to such transfers. The site runs over HTTPS and access is restricted, but no website can promise perfect security.
Children
This site is for adults. It is not aimed at anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly hold data about children.
Changes
This policy is reviewed periodically; the date at the top shows the current version.
